This course is delivered by an approved registered training provider and as such, students may be eligible to be funded for the training cost of this course under a subsidised training contract (VFSS). Please refer to your school’s VET Coordinator for more information. This does not include consumables.
Non-member schools – an additional admin levy of $150 per student.

Entry Requirements
Genuine interest in the Construction Industry and sound literacy and numeracy skills. Pre-course requirement for VGSS funded students is White-Card completion prior to course commencement – CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (approx. $135 per person).
Additional Information
Students must supply their own steel capped boots, 8m quality tape measure and a box of quality disposable dust masks. The tape measure and box of dust masks must be labelled with the student's name. Other personal protective clothing and equipment will be supplied by the course and will include safety glasses, a shirt, riggers gloves and earmuffs. Shirts are to be worn and visible at all times while on site.
Work Placement
Students and their families are responsible for organising 70 hours of Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) in the construction industry. The 70 hours of SWL must be completed by the end of the Term 3 holidays.

Selection Process
Students will undertake the VET Readiness Orientation (VETRO) process in Semester 2, 2026 via a referral process completed at their Home School using an online from. Once the Home School has completed the referral process, students will be required to undertake a Snapshot Reading and Numeracy Assessment to demonstrate sufficient literacy and numeracy ability.
Orientation Details
Orientation is undertaken on the first day in Week 2 of Term 1, February 2027. Students to meet at the Building and Construction Centre at Heathfield High School.
